Finally, my favourite season! Maybe that has something to do with the fact that I’m a November baby 😄
Summer was long, beautiful and pretty intense. At the beginning of September, I got to celebrate my wonderful fairytale wedding, and between all the preparations and my full-time job, Sunday Belles had to take a bit of a back seat for a while. That’s why I’m even more excited now for the quieter season, when the days get shorter and pumpkins, scented candles and gingerbread start making their way back into everyday life.
I just love autumn. The colourful trees, cosy sweaters and, of course, everything Halloween. Even after all these years, these are still some of my favourite earrings to create. Pumpkins, little ghosts and anything playful or slightly spooky somehow always end up back on my worktable every year.
And there’s one more thing that absolutely belongs to autumn for me: Harry Potter! Every year, the films are playing in the background while I’m working with polymer clay and happily sipping my coffee. So, Warner Bros, if you ever fancy a collab - I’m available! 🔮 Speaking of polymer clay: I recently bought myself a new oven. After a few pieces broke with my old one, I’ll admit my patience was starting to run a little thin 😄
Right across from my nail studio in Bern’s Old Town is also my favourite fabric shop. Dangerous! Because if I’m already there, of course I’ll “just pop in for a minute”. By now, nobody is really surprised when I walk back out shortly afterwards with a few metres of new fabric under my arm.
That’s exactly how a few new scrunchie fabrics recently found their way home with me. And when it comes to autumn colours, I honestly have no self-control. Brown is my absolute favourite colour, followed closely by beige, rust, cream or a good checked pattern - awwww!
I love when new products come together like this. Spontaneously, because a fabric, a colour or some tiny detail catches my eye. Some ideas work straight away, others need a few attempts before they feel right.
Either way, I’m really looking forward to giving Sunday Belles a little more time again and showing you a few new autumn pieces over the coming weeks.
As far as I’m concerned, autumn could happily stick around for a little longer 🍂✨
